Up one levelMerced River Alliance Final Reports
The Merced Alliance Final Report is comprised of two volumes --Project overview, outreach, and education (Volume I); Biological monitoring and assessment (Volume II).
Merced River aquatic habitat maps
The map is continuous from the confluence with the San Joaquin River up to the boundary of Yosemite National Park. The continuous mapping was done using low elevation aerial videography. Units were broken into five different groups (riffle, cascade, run/glide, pocket water, and pool). In Yosemite Valley, where helicopter flyovers are not permitted, discrete portions of the river were mapped using on the ground techniques. More details regarding mapping methodology are available in the Merced River Alliance Biological Monitoring and Assessment Plan (BMAP) Section 5.2.1.2, which is also posted on this site.
Merced River Alliance Project Biological Monitoring and Assessment Plan
The Biological Monitoring and Assessment Plan (BMAP), developed by Stillwater Sciences as a component of the Merced River Alliance Project, represents the first planned comprehensive assessment of fish, bird, and aquatic macroinvertebrate species composition and distribution in the Merced River. The study will be conducted from spring 2006 to spring 2008.
