Merced River Salmon Habitat Enhancement Project - Western Stone Reach

The Western Stone phase is located on the Merced River from river mile 41.5 to 42, just downstream of the Highway 59 bridge. This reach is characterized by a deep, relatively narrow section of river, most of which is virtually devoid of a floodplain and riparian communities. It is adjacent to a gravel mining operation.

To improve and enchance the Salmon Habitat along the Merced River and specifically at the Western Stone. The project is currently in preliminary design stages along with the Lower Western Stone portion.
