Irrigation Facts: Merced Irrigation District


Agriculture is Merced County's leading industry with a total gross value of over $1,500,000,000 according to the Merced County Agricultural Commissioner. The Merced Irrigation District provides much needed irrigation water to that Eastern Merced County's agricultural community from the Merced River which flows through the Yosemite National Park.






This site provides valuable data on the irrigation facts such as: gross acres irrigated, number of growers served, capacity of Lake McSwain and of Lake McClure, number of drainage and irrigation wells, miles of canals pipeline and total number of canals in its district.
